Nonsuch House is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the county in an area of outstanding natural beauty and there are plenty of activities to occupy your visit if you are minded to tear yourself away from the comfort of the terrace taking in the beautiful views and watching the activities on the river.
There are some outstanding walks to be had straight from Nonsuch House - the South West Coast path is on the doorstep and Dartmoor is close by. Whether you want a full day's walk or a short stroll we can provide you with lots of ideas and maps and are very willing to drop you off somewhere in the locality so that you can walk back in time for a delicious home made tea!
With the river Dart and the sea on the doorstep there are a tremendous amount of water bound activities you can undertake locally from sailing to canoeing, from a picnic trip up the river to Totnes to a day's fishing trip out at sea. With the temperate climate experienced in the area there are some spectacular gardens to visit in the immediate locality and a little further afield - Coleton Fishacre of D'Oyly Carte fame and Greenway of Agatha Christie fame are virtually on the doorstep (

www.fastrabbitfarm.co.uk) are a short drive away whilst The Eden Project (
www.edenproject.com), Rosemoor (
www.rhs.org.uk) and the Lost Gardens of Heligan (

Dartmouth (

www.salcombeinformation.co.uk) offer good shopping and many an hour can be whiled away looking at clothes, gifts, chandleries and more. The area around Dartmouth is renowned for its artists and some excellent pieces of art, pottery or sculpture can be found in the immediate vicinity.
